The Bookkeeper issues checks and maintains records on all accounts payable transactions; works with vendors and internal departments to create efficient and effective processes. The Mailroom Clerk is responsible for the pickup, sorting and delivery of mail across numerous locations


This is a 20 hour per week position that is not benefit eligible.


Accounts Payable           

Completes payments and controls expenses by receiving, reconciling, verifying and processing invoices

  1. review and verify invoices and check requests
  2. sort, code and match invoices
  3. set invoices up for payment
  4. enter and upload invoices into system
  5. track expenses and process expense reports
  6. prepare and perform check runs
  7. post transactions to journals, ledgers and other records
  8. monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date
  9. research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues maintain vendor files
  10. correspond with vendors and respond to inquiries
  11. provide supporting documentation for audits


Mailroom Clerk

Receives and distributes inter-office and postal service mail

  1. receives and sorts mail
  2. delivers to numerous locations across Saginaw using personal vehicle (22 reimbursable miles each day; normally two days a week)
  3. must have reliable transportation


Working Environment/Physical Demands

  1. general office environment, requiring computer usage (prolonged sitting, eye strain)
  2. minimal lifting not greater than 35 pounds
  3. long periods of standing


  1. High school diploma, associate’s degree preferred
  2. Minimum three years’ experience in a bookkeeping position preferred.
  3. Skilled in the utilization of current accounting software packages, Exact Macola ERP software preferred
  4. Must have Word and Excel experience
  5. Must possess strong organizational and planning skills
