Overview

The Reception Call Center Support has split responsibility for the functions of receiving and directing patients/visitors to appropriate locations as well as phone call encounters, scheduling visits, recording insurance and demographic data, while exhibiting a friendly and helpful affect towards parties within and outside the corporation. Reception Call Center Support duties are identified and staffed on clinical operations needs and as directed by the Patient Services Manager.

 

This is a 4 hour per week occasional position.

Responsibilities

  1. Patient Reception
    1. Greet and direct patients while serving in a general capacity of “information assistance”;
    2. Schedule appointments using protocol established within the department.
    3. Conduct “reminder calls” to ensure patients arrive for appointments and are on time.
  2. Information Gathering
    1. Ensure accurate charting of demographics, insurance coverage, and additional data as needed.
  3. Call Center
    1. Answer multiple incoming phone calls and open electronic phone encounters
    2. Register basic patient demographics using protocol established within the department
  4. Medical Records
    1. Employee will aid the department on an as needed basis with tasks ranging from maintaining needed supplies to assisting in special projects.

Qualifications

  1. High school degree - Minimum
  2. Proficient in the use of computers, word-processing and scheduling software or ability to learn applicable software.
  3. Demonstrated experience in a customer service role.
  4. Clerical and office support work coupled with keyboarding, and computer proficiency. Multi-specialty clinic setting preferred.
  5. Proficient written and verbal communication skills with multicultural sensitivity.
  6. Medical background preferred.
