  • Overview

    Performs accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger accounting activities; Maintains a uniform accounting system; Prepares financial reports; Participates in annual audit; Performs related accounting and clerical work as required.

    Responsibilities

    • Prepares income statement, asset, liability, and capital account entries
    • Documents financial transactions by entering account information
    • Recommends financial actions by analyzing accounting options
    • Assists in the preparation of balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports
    • Substantiates financial transactions by reviewing support documents and reconciling G/L accounts
    • Reconciles financial discrepancies
    • Maintains financial security by following internal controls
    • Prepares payments by verifying documentation, and requesting disbursements
    • Manages IRS Form W9 and 1099 reporting
    • Prepares invoices/billings per contracts and as otherwise needed
    • Receipts payments and reconciles to outstanding invoices
    • Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions
    • Complies with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions
    • Prepares special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information
    • Maintains customer confidence by keeping financial information accurate
    • Maintains professional and technical knowledge
    • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
    • Minimum three years’ experience in an accounting position preferred.
    • Skilled in the utilization of current accounting software packages.
    • Must have Word and Excel training and experience.
    • Must possess strong organizational and planning skills.
