Overview

Performs accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger accounting activities; Maintains a uniform accounting system; Prepares financial reports; Participates in annual audit; Performs related accounting and clerical work as required.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares income statement, asset, liability, and capital account entries.
  • Documents financial transactions by entering account information.
  • Recommends financial actions by analyzing accounting options.
  • Assists in the preparation of balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports.
  • Substantiates financial transactions by reviewing support documents and reconciling G/L accounts.
  • Reconciles financial discrepancies.
  • Maintains financial security by following internal controls.
  • Prepares payments by verifying documentation and requesting disbursements.
  • Manages IRS Form W9 and 1099 reporting.
  • Prepares invoices/billings per contracts and as otherwise needed.
  • Receipts payments and reconciles outstanding invoices.
  • Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions.
  • Complies with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
  • Prepares special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information.
  • Maintains customer confidence by keeping financial information accurate.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
  2. Three years’ experience in an accounting position preferred.
  3. Skilled in the utilization of current accounting software packages.
  4. Must have Word and Excel training and experience.
  5. Must possess strong organizational and planning skills.
